I came here for the pies! Now, there is much more here than just that. This place is the standard American diner with a huge menu. It's nothing extremely special, but it does diner well. We went with the banana cream pie, it was banana forward and an excellent choice. The strawberry cream pie was a bit underwhelming and looked like a mess. The apple pie was solid. Not overly sweet and a little tart which I like. Unfortunately, they were out of the Dutch apple pie which is apparently popular. All in all it was a solid experience. The parking lot is tiny to be prepared to wait to park. It was not overly loud when I went. The staff is very nice. It's a great place to satisfy that late night sweet tooth.

Food: Food quality has sort of gotten worse over the last 3 years. They're ok. About the only reason why I gave 1 less star. Service: Service was great. I usually go late. They were closing early this one Sunday night which I could swear they used to be open later a couple years ago. Ambiance: Think 90s diner.

I came here late on a Sunday evening in search of a quick dessert spot. This place was the perfect answer! The restaurant is so cute and has a laid-back vintage diner vibe. I loved the furniture to their old vintage signage-it made it a memorable dining experience. The cashier was personable and helpful and answered all the questions that we had. We ordered 3 slices of pie; apple, pecan, and banana cream. Out of the three, the banana cream was my favorite. I will definitely be coming back, especially knowing that they stay open late!

Kudos to Karina and her colleagues at House of Pies-real (nice) people in Hollywood? Who knew? Pie heaven is also Pancake heaven.

We were craving a good fruit pie, and while everyone is out having fun on a Saturday night, we drove to House of Pies, from Pasadena, as it's hard to find places that serve pie in the area. The traffic wasn't too bad, and we took a chance to trek out here. Was it worth it? Umm yes it was! The manager was a total sweetheart, and took his time showing us the different pie options and giving us some history of the restaurant. We ended up walking out with 2 pies. A peach and lemon meringue. The peach pie was fantastic! I love that they used real peaches instead of canned ones. We were super impressed and will come back here for more deliciousness. Thanks for curing our craving! Ps- please make a mixed berry pie option. :)

Have no clue why they call the excellent fried chicken here broasted chicken. The coating is light and flavorful. Best of all, it's cooked fresh to order and there is pie for dessert. The rest of the menu is typical diner fare with breakfast served all day. The bathrooms are nicely renovated but the rest of the place is a bit tired although clean and pleasant.

My husband and I love House of Pies. We've been consistently coming to this diner for years. The food is great and the service is great as well, especially Karina. She always makes sure we have what we need and even memorized our usual order. This is what makes the service unlike any other!

We drove through LA on our way back home and swung by House of Pies to grab a few slices to go. It was 3pm on a Saturday and was surprisingly busy. The lady working the front counter was pleasant and provided quick service. The interior was your typical diner, with large booths and a long counter to eat at. I ordered a slice of blueberry pie which had a hint of tartness with a mellow aftertaste. My husband ordered a slice of cherry. Our favorite part was the crust which was buttery, flaky, and so delicious! I'd definitely return for a slice with a cup of coffee on the side.

Old school nostalgia at it's finest. House of Pies is in the middle of hipster street and has remained untouched. I actually didn't know it still existed. But when we were on our way to dinner at Mirate, it caught our eye and we knew we were coming back for dessert. Their pie selection includes all the classics but we settled on good old lemon meringue pie. Took that deliciousness home and savored it for a couple days. Great with our coffee in the morning too.

First time here. Retro vibes in decor inside and outside. Quick stop with friend we wanted to sit down for a nice sweet treat in the afternoon Happy smiles with our welcome. Self seating. Carina took our order. Pie came out quickly. I ordered the pumpkin pie with a scoop of vanilla cream and my friend ordered the blueberry cheesecake. You can order a slice which is more like 1/4 of the pie. Generous portion. Tastes homemade with flakey buttery crusts. We both enjoyed our pie. It hit the spot! Will return to try other flavors.
